Cerebral Palsy Cymru receives a generous £25,000 donation from the Valero Benefit for Children Golf Classic.

We are delighted to have received a generous £25,000 donation from the Valero Benefit for Children Golf Classic, helping to ensure more babies and children with cerebral palsy across Wales can access life-changing specialist therapy and family support.

Valero, which owns and operates the Pembroke Refinery in West Wales, has a long-standing commitment to supporting local communities through charitable giving and volunteering. The annual Benefit for Children Golf Classic is one of the ways the company, alongside its contractors and business partners, raises vital funds for children's charities.

The annual Valero Benefit for Children Classic brings together more than 200 golfers from Valero and sponsors of the event to raise vital funds for children's charities. Each year, the event supports a number of organisations making a difference to the lives of children and young people across South and West Wales. This year, Cerebral Palsy Cymru was honoured to be selected as one of 14 beneficiary charities.

Carwyn Williams, Head of Fundraising, Corporate Partnerships and Communications at Cerebral Palsy Cymru attended the beneficiary presentation evening at St Brides Hotel & Spa in Saundersfoot, where he met the Valero team and event sponsors, and accepted the donation on behalf of the children and families supported by Cerebral Palsy Cymru.

The £25,000 donation will help fund Cerebral Palsy Cymru's specialist therapy and family support services, including its early intervention programme, Better Start, Better Future, which supports babies who have, or are at high risk of, cerebral palsy during the earliest and most important stages of development.

Marie Wood, Chief Executive (Interim) of Cerebral Palsy Cymru, said:

We are incredibly grateful to Valero and everyone involved in the Benefit for Children Golf Classic for this wonderful donation. This £25,000 donation will make a meaningful difference to the babies, children and families we support across Wales, helping us provide specialist therapy and family support at the earliest possible stage, when it can have the greatest impact. We'd also like to thank the many contractors, business partners and golfers whose fundraising efforts made this possible. Their support will help more children with cerebral palsy reach their full potential.

Everyone at Cerebral Palsy Cymru would like to thank Valero and everyone who supported this year's Benefit for Children Golf Classic. Their generosity will have a lasting impact on children and families living with cerebral palsy within Pembrokeshire and across Wales.
