Aims of the Cerebral Palsy Register
The Cerebral Palsy Register for Wales is a confidential record of individuals with cerebral palsy who were born in or live in Wales.
Our aim is to establish a systematic approach to the monitoring and surveillance of cerebral palsy in Wales and to support research into the condition
The main aims of the Cerebral Palsy Register Wales are to:
• enable individuals in Wales with cerebral palsy to have improved Quality of Life individuals, giving them the opportunity to be included in all aspects of life
• establish a systematic approach to monitoring and surveillance of cerebral palsy
• inform service planning
• establish a systematic approach to monitoring and surveillance of cerebral palsy
• ensure equitable high-quality evidence-based services for individuals with cerebral palsy
• enable population level research, to benefit individuals and populations living with cerebral palsy in Wales
• make a difference for those in Wales with cerebral palsy
• act as an agent for change and enable people and families to be active participants and shape its development
