Early Intervention and Assessment Course - Autumn / Winter 2023

Part 1 will be delivered remotely starting in October 2023 and will be the equivalent of 3 days of education time.

Part 2 will consist of 3 days in February 2024 at Cerebral Palsy Cymru, Cardiff, Wales and will focus on translating acquired knowledge into practical skills working with babies/infants and their families with guidance and support from the course tutors.

The course is led by the highly experienced early intervention course tutors, Christine Barber and Betty Hutchon.

Early Intervention and Assessment for Infants and young children at high risk of neurodevelopmental problems – a practical and evidence-based approach.

Monday 2nd October 2023 – Full day online – work will be given that will need to be completed prior to the live tutorials.

Tuesday 3rd October 2023 6:30pm - 7:30pm - a tutorial to discuss topics and ask questions arising from the course on the 2nd October.

Tuesday 7th November 2023, Tuesday 28th November 2023, Tuesday 12th December 2023 and Tuesday 16th January 2024 – a live 1hr Tutorial (not recorded) – compulsory attendance required – 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

Monday 5th, Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th February 2024 – three day attendance. These practical sessions will be held at Cerebral Palsy Cymru, Cardiff, Wales.

This course provides essential training for physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists working with high-risk infants in the NICU and in the community during the first year of life.

Cost: £1,155 per person (this includes tea/coffee at the practical sessions but not lunches)
