What is this course?
Early Intervention and Assessment for Infants and young children at high risk of neurodevelopmental problems– a practical and evidence-based approach.
This course is a comprehensive overview of assessment and early intervention from birth to 12 months encompassing the Ei SMART approach.
When will the course take place?
This updated early intervention course will be delivered in 2 parts.
Part 1 will be delivered virtually starting in February 2021 and will be the equivalent of 3 days of education time. There will be an initial ‘real-time half-day' via zoom, followed by a series of presentations available remotely and regular tutorials with course tutors online.
Part 2 will consist of 3 days in June 2021 at Cerebral Palsy Cymru, Cardiff, Wales and will focus on translating acquired knowledge into practical skills working with babies/infants and their families with guidance and support from the course tutors.
2021 confirmed dates
Monday 8 February 2021 – Full day online – work will be given that will need to be completed prior to the following four Live Tutorials
Tuesday 23 February, Tuesday 30 March, Tuesday 27 April & Tuesday 18 May – a Live 1hr Tutorial (not recorded) – compulsory attendance required - 6.30pm to 7.30pm
Monday 7 June to Saturday 12 June – Three day attendance either Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday or Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately, there will not be any flexibility on the dates provided by the Tutors.
Who is this course suitable for?
This course provides essential training for physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists working with high-risk infants in the NICU and in the community during the first year of life.
The course is led by the highly experienced early intervention course tutors, Christine Barber and Betty Hutchon.
How much does the course cost?
The cost of this course is £1,055.
